Dominique Fils-Aimé is a Polaris Music and JUNO prize-nominated singer-songwriter from Montreal who draws inspiration from soul icons of the 40's and 60's such as Billie Holiday, Etta James, and Nina Simone. While her musical roots are grounded in early soul and jazz, her voice transcends contemporary urban soundscapes.

Moving on from her 2018 acclaimed debut full length blues-tinged Nameless —which boldly confronted historical silences and sorrows— Stay Tuned! (2019, Ensoul Records) is both a call for and reminder of revolution expressed with the fury of red-hot jazz. Wanting to break away from the standards of traditional compositions, Dominique presents a body of work focused on liberating herself from musical forms.

The album won the Félix prize for Best Jazz Album at the 2019 ADISQ gala and was chosen among the 19 best Canadian albums of 2019 according to CBC. Dominique Fils-Aimé was recently nominated as Radio-Canada's 2019-2020 “Revelation in Jazz” and has been touring Canada's Jazz Festivals. She just completed the first leg of her European tour in France before embarking on a series of shows across Europe in 2020.

En voici plutôt une relecture douce, caressante, dont l'émotion doit tout au timbre de Dominique Fils-Aimé, qui, elle, n'a guère besoin de hurler, mais juste de poser sa(es) voix.

Bertrand Bouard

That upbeat, positive attitude, immense natural talent, and lady-like conduct makes her an artist to watch.

Stay Tuned! is a striking album, with the 14 songs, all penned by Fils-Aimé, built around her powerful vocals. It's an eclectic set that veers from jazzy interludes to haunting trip-hop to Sade-like late-night sexy soul jams, all backed by a crack band.

Brendan Kelly
The Gazette

A precious album of minimalist soul-jazz, sometimes tinged with reggae and R & B, which, thanks to the solemn tone of the singer, gives the impression of suspending the time and the space in which one listens to it.

Philippe Renaud
Le Devoir

On stage, we could observe its uniqueness in front of public, we could appreciate her taste, her sense of polishing without neglecting her ability to go straight to the heart.
